Dylan Golcher

Data Analyst
I am a data analyst with an educational background in UX/User Research and Marketing Communications. I have previous experience in customer facing and specialized administrative roles. Presently and in these past roles, I have used various tools and methods to accomplish task-oriented goals using data, stemming from inventory management and scheduling to summarizing large datasets and deriving variables for statistical analysis. As a detail-oriented problem solver by heart with a knack for effective communication and propensity towards inquisitive thinking, I strive to investigate and uncover the profound stories data has to tell.

Background
Hello! I’m Dylan Golcher and I am currently based in Central New Jersey, a stone’s throw from the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. While data analysis as a field of work is new for me, I have accumulated experience with using data to achieve specific outcomes in several previous jobs. My interest in data actually started while using it to fulfill my interest in a hobby – keeping track of baseball players and their statistics using Excel spreadsheets.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I took time off from work and began researching what skills and knowledge I needed to become a data analyst. I sought out advice from senior-level data analysts through informational interviews, eventually leading me to take courses in SQL, Python, Advanced Excel, Tableau, and Power BI. From there, I enrolled in CareerFoundry’s Data Analytics program to pursue certification, which I successfully completed in February. I now look forward to applying my skills on the job!
Mission
I am endeavoring to enter the field of analytics with a full-time role in any area that I feel may be best suited to my interests and talents. Soft skills, such as organization, time-management, precision, and resourcefulness will pair well with my technical knowledge of Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Python in any data analytics position.

While there are countless avenues to explore within the field of data analytics, one area of particular interest to me is in healthcare. Being able to help patients receive better care and help healthcare businesses streamline and simplify their internal operations would feel fulfilling both spiritually and professionally.
I also find the retail aspect of analytics to be interesting, as I discovered while using Python to perform an Instacart analysis on sales patterns and trends.

I am fully open to any position, both remote and in-office, and willing to relocate anywhere. I am eager to start my journey down this new career path and welcome any opportunity that comes my way.

My interests and passions are an extension of my inquisitive nature that also serves my love of data. Here’s a little about me while off the clock:
